Inflatable amusement device
inspection and certification

anywhere in Australia
The new Safe Work
Australia regulations with regard to design
verification, design registration and item
registration which includes all class 2 and
above amusement devices came into effect on the
1st of January 2012.
Class 1 and certain
sealed inflatables are exempt from the new
regulation requirements.
If your
inflatable is operated via a constant
(continuous) air flow and patrons interact with
it via their own motion (that is, they play on
it) then that inflatable will require design
verification, design registration and item
registration.
However not all the States
and Territories have passed the legislation
required to enforce the new regulations and some
states including NSW and Queensland have
deferred item registration for a period of 12
months until 2013.
Please contact Jay for
further information on your State or Territories
current status.
